The Board of Directors of Arlington Soccer Club would like to remind all players, families and coaches of the ASC Player Code of Conduct regarding disruptive and disrespectful behavior by any player.
The Arlington Soccer Club expects that players will conduct themselves in a mature and respectful manner. Players should arrive at practices and games prepared to play and listen to instructions from their coach. Disruptive and disrespectful behavior by any player cannot and will not be permitted to negatively impact the opportunity for the rest of the team to develop their skills and pursue their interest in the game. Similarly, our coaches, who commit so much of their time and energy to their teams, should not and will not be expected to tolerate such behavior.
Coaches are instructed to address any issues promptly and directly with the player or players involved, and, if necessary, with those player’s parents. If the situation warrants, the respective ASC Age Group Director and Director of Coaching will become involved, and if necessary refer the situation to the ASC Sportsmanship Review Committee for disciplinary action.
We ask that every coach communicate these expectations to their teams and every parent review these expectations with their child. This is subject to periodic review.
Consequences for inappropriate behavior:
- First time: verbal warning by coach
- Second time: player sits out of practice / game for a period of time
- Third time: coach informs ASC Age Group Director of behavior issue, who if needed refers the situation to the ASC Board of Directors Sportsmanship Review Committee for disciplinary action
