The Arlington Soccer Club (ASC) is hosting its semi-annual In-Town Referee Workshop for the Spring 2025 season. Completion of this workshop allows referee candidates to officiate ASC In-Town games (Grades 2-3-4) in Spring 2025.
The In-Town Referee workshop is open to ONLY 7th or 8th graders who will be 12-13 years old as of April 1, 2025. Those younger than 12, or 14+ on April 1, are not eligible to participate in this workshop. This workshop is offered in conjunction with the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) Genesis Program.
Returning In-Town Referees are encouraged to join us to refresh their knowledge of topics covered at the workshop in March 2025. Returning referees who complete this workshop are eligible to be observed by an evaluator from the Mass Referee State Committee during the season.
WHAT: Arlington Soccer Club In-Town Referee Workshop (for new and returning In-town Referees)
WHEN: Monday, March 17, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 pm EST.
WHERE: Robbins Library Community Room, 700 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington.
WHO: 7th and 8th graders (aged 12-13) in Arlington who wish to become soccer referees for S2025 season.
COST: $10 for new referees; FREE for returning in-town referees.
In addition to this workshop in March, all ASC In-Town Referees should attend the ASC Spring 2025Pre-Season Referee Meeting on Wed, 2 April from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Robbins Library Community Room.
Register for the Spring 2025 ASC In-Town Referee Course beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wed, Feb. 12, 2025, via Adminsports HERE. Returning In-Town Referees should submit their name, school grade, and status as returning referee. New Referees should submit the referee’s name, school grade, t-shirt size, and pay $10. Returning referees who need a larger jersey should indicate that too.
This workshop is limited to 40 participants. Those who are unable to register for this workshop should be able to register for a subsequent workshop for the Fall 2025 season. Referees aged 14+ should follow instructions to become a Grassroots/BAYS referee.
In-Town referees are paid $25 per game. Typically we have more referees than we have games available.
